3 Effective Ways to Avoid Skipping Breakfast
The importance of breakfast can’t be emphasized enough. A nutritious breakfast meal keeps you energized throughout the day and increases brain power. This means you can be more productive at work and feel healthy too.
However, despite these advantages, the NPD Group found that about 31 million Americans skip breakfast every morning! There are several excuses for skipping breakfast, but there’s a solution for each.

- Wake up 10 minutes earlier
Mornings can be hectic. You must ensure that you and/or your kids are out the door in one piece, get all you need for the workplace, carry out a few chores, and much more. Understandably, someitmes you might feel that you don’t have time for it. This is why you may need to reevaluate your morning routine. It’s usually advisable to wake up 10 minutes earlier than you usually do. Although it may not seem like much time, it’s enough time to fix a quick breakfast.
- Prep your breakfast meals
Another way to beat the excuse of no time is to prep your breakfast meals. Consider making the meal the night before. This way, you can avoid the stress of creating an entire dish from scratch in the morning. It also helps you take your breakfast to-go if you’re in a rush, so that you can have breakfast en route or when you get to work. You might also want to consider setting the table the night before. This is helpful if you need to feed your household breakfast every morning.

- Try something new
You might skip breakfast simply because you’re tired of your breakfast options. This is one reason why some people deem themselves “non-breakfast” people. However, you can change this by exploring various breakfast options. For instance, consider replaceing your regular oatmeal and fruit breakfast meal with a plate of savory sourdough French toast, topped with an egg, cheese, or avacado (or all three!) Healthy smoothies are quick and easy to make. If you include ample protein in your breakfast, it could help you avoid a mid-morning crash. Fortunately, there are many breakfast recipes you can try to avoid a boring breakfast meal.

- Know the benefits of breakfast
Some of the reasons Americans give for skipping breakfast may seem reasonable on the surface. However, further evaluation would show that they do not fully understand the benefits of this meal. For instance, several people miss breakfast because they believe that breakfast could be interfering with their weight management efforts and diet plans. This is far from true! In fact, many experts have found that breakfast can help with weight management efforts, as it prevents overeating and cravings throughout the day. When you understand the benefits of having breakfast, you will appreciate and prioritize this meal.

Although it’s easy to skip breakfast, it’s important to put in place various strategies to help avoid doing this too often. Hopefully, these tips can help you make the right changes to enjoy a healthy breakfast every morning.

I normally can’t eat first thing, so I have my breakfast about an hour after I get up. Overnight oats are fab! I would love it if you could join me at my monthly link party -Sharing Serenity at http://www.serenityyou.com
